Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary on-site leader responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating all construction
activities.
- Ensure full compliance with HSSE protocols,
company policies, project specifications, and contract requirements.
- Lead daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and
enforce a culture of zero harm.
- Translate project plans, IFC drawings, and schedules
into executable site activities.
- Coordinate daily and weekly construction operations,
ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery.
- Manage site logistics, access, equipment allocation,
and manpower deployment.
- Act as the main interface between site teams,
subcontractors, engineering, QA/QC, and the Project Manager.
- Attend progress meetings; prepare and deliver daily,
weekly, and monthly reports.
- Coordinate with engineering on RFI submissions, shop
drawings, and design clarifications.
- Use Primavera to monitor progress against
baseline, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.
- Implement productivity tracking systems, work-front
planning, and look-ahead schedules (2WLA / 4WLA).
- Enforce timely execution while maintaining quality
standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSSE rules, risk
assessments, PTWs, and safe work practices.
- Verify that works comply with project specifications,
ITPs, quality procedures, and checklists.
- Participate in inspections, punch lists, NCR closure,
and continuous quality improvement.
- Oversee subcontractor performance, productivity, work
methods, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate subcontractor compliance with contractual
obligations, HSSE, and QC requirements.
- Resolve site issues proactively and propose creative,
effective solutions to avoid delays.
- Identify potential risks, clashes, or constraints
early and escalate when required.
- Provide professional judgment on technical matters
and construction methodologies.
- Maintain accurate records: daily site reports,
manpower logs, equipment logs, material usage, progress photos.
- Ensure timely submission of RFIs, MIRs, WIRs,
permits, and internal site documentation.
- Support the PM in preparing client reports,
dashboards, and meeting minutes.
- Manage the deployment and performance of foremen,
supervisors, engineers, and labor crews.
- Ensure proper use of tools, machinery, and temporary
works to optimize efficiency.
- Support HR in evaluating staffing needs and
performance appraisals.
- Represent Our Company professionally with client
representatives, consultants, and inspectors.
- Address technical comments, clarify work
methods, and ensure smooth approvals of completed work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical
Engineering from a reputable, accredited university.
- Professional certifications in construction, HSSE, or
project management are an advantage.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and
written), Kurdish, Turkish, or French is preferred.
- Strong communication, reporting, and coordination
skills.
- Minimum 15 years of professional construction
experience in progressively senior roles.
- Proven experience managing construction activities
for commercial buildings, hospitals, industrial facilities, or EPC
projects.
- Solid track record working in strict HSSE and QA/QC
environments.
- Primavera (P6): Intermediate level (work
scheduling, progress monitoring).
- AutoCAD: Intermediate level (reviewing
drawings, redlining, and shop drawings review).
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies,
sequencing, resource planning, and site logistics.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring
capabilities.
- High level of initiative, ownership, and
accountability.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to
provide creative, practical solutions under pressure.
- Willing to work in Basra (Madina) under
demanding field conditions.
Working Conditions:
Site work- 6 days per week, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
